Uninsured driver arrested for Drug Driving!

Yesterday evening, Beat Officers were out in Hothfield making enquiries into nuisance bikes, when we located a vehicle on Tufton Road that was uninsured and showed on DVLA as still registered to the previous keeper. 

When the vehicle was stopped, the driver could not provide any proof of insurance and was also noted to be acting very nervy. The fact his pupils were so small to the point they were almost non-existent, was the only clue we needed. 

Because of this, he was subject to a roadside drugs wipe and failed for both Cannabis and Cocaine. 

The driver was arrested for driving with Excess Drugs and taken to Custody where an evidential blood sample was taken and he now remains on Police Bail awaiting the results from the lab. He was also issued a Traffic Report for the matter of driving without insurance and his car was recovery by us.
